Merry Christmas!!!!

Sometimes, you have to just go for it and be politically incorrect. Now is my time....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Ahhhh, I feel better now. As a Christian, Christmas is a very important and special time for our family. Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, I pray that everyone takes a few moments out of their daily lives and reflects on how incredibly blessed we are.

If you are a family member or close friend, please don't expect a Christmas card from me this year. {Gasp!} My BFF (gosh, can you tell I have a teen in the house!?!) told me people would think I was depressed if I didn't send out cards this year, but I want you to know I am doing very well. ;)

I've just been so b-u-s-y! Our new company is off to a quick start (I'll start sharing more soon!) And, I'm enjoying life once again. Window shopping, hanging with friends and life! It's the little things I missed when I worked 24/7. Now, I make my own hours and I fit work into my life, not my life into my work. I love it.

However, there is one thing I miss...and it's YOU!!! I miss the daily emails from customers/scrapbookers/stampers. I loved hearing the stories...that's what I miss.

So, here's the deal. I'm going to start some chatter around here. Once a week, (on Mondays) I'm going to answer questions from you. So, post a question in the comments section, and if I answer it the next week, I'll send you some inque stamps. (gotta do something with the stamps I have!) I'll send at least 2-3 images (not sets, sorry, I'll run out too soon....) to each person that I answer their question. I'll also choose one random person. So, at least 2-3 winners a week....Sound like fun?

No question is off limits. Well, ok, r-rated ones are. (that would be too weird for me....) ;)

But, make them good. No easy ones like, "How many kids do you have?" (two girls...15 and 11).

Ok?

Ready?

Get Set....

Go!

Hugs,
Stephanie
P.S. Once again, Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
What was the most important thing you have learned so far in your business experience?

Merry Christmas to you! and yours!! My question. I bought the stamp keepers from Inque Boutique and one bunch I got, I love--the second bunch I got are much different and I don't love them. I wonder if Inque made two different ones. Thanks.

Merry Christmas! If it makes you feel any better I finally got all the cards made and they are still sitting in a neat stack in my scrapbook room! I know...it figures! Hopefully I'll get some handed out tonight, at least. So, here is my question...with being so amazingly busy, being a working mom and such, how do you make time for yourself to craft and then how do you make the most of that time. I'm not a Mom, but I do work full time, commute 10 hours a week, volunteer a ton, and make time to spend with my husband and it can get tricky! Thanks for considering my question!

Merey CHRISTmas!!!

I am amazed at how many crafters are Christians and it just makes me love crafting all the more when I am crafting with my "sisters." So here is my question,do you think your faith impacts your crafting? How/Why?

Merry Christmas to you and yours! I agree it is special to say "Merry Christmas" I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season!

I'm really confused about the whole sale of Inque to Darice. I can't seem to find stamps on their web site so why would a company buy another (spend $$$) and then get rid of the product? They didn't seem to make anything comparable so what's up?

NIce to hear that you are back in the swing of things!

I want to know, with all your busy-ness of business and family life, when do you find time to craft? Are you a late night girl? Early morning? I am struggling to keep time for my paper passion with all my other responsibilities (ties with a slightly neurotic personality that just can't let things like housework take a backseat!)

Merry Christmas Stephanie! I could not click on my mail fast enough to see what you had to say or what you have created or what great technique you have to share! Glad you are back.
My question is...What inspires you...the little things in life, the holiday, what your children say or do..what activitiy is going on in your life at the time?

thanks for sharing your creativity.

Merry Christmas Stephanie. I was wondering when you were going to be able to tell us the company you are designing stamps for that you mentioned you and your friend were working on? How about a sneak peek?

merry christmas to you too! i'm trying to think of the perfect question, but am falling up a little short. I'm sure you've answered this a bajillion times, but as someone interested in designing my own stamps, at what point did you decide "I want to do this" and why?

Merry Christmas to you too! I'm stuck at work right now in Seattle with all the great snow (I LOVE it!), but I sure wish I was at home with my kids baking cookies and getting ready for Santa. What is your favorite Christmas tradition with your girls? I have three kids, all under the age of 4, so we're trying to find some new and fun Christmas traditions to bring into our family. I'd love to hear what you and your family do :)
Wishing you all the best! And it's SO nice to hear that you're starting up your new company...I'm thrilled!

When you design stamps - what is your process?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I have always loved your stamps and I see you also have a teenage daughter. My question is what do you do for stamps in your layouts for your daughter? I find the cutesy stamps that were great for babies and children just don`t cut it for teenagers. Also will you be designing some new stamps for this age group?

Merry Christmas Stephanie! I absolutely love your videos. Each time I watch them I get totally inspired.

My question is, If you knew ahead of time what was going to happen to Inque would you still have done it?

I am so happy you didn't give up when things went belly up with the other company. You were the best part. My question has to do with glitter and stamps. I made my own Christmas cards this year, and while heat embossing is great, I would have liked more glitter for Christmas. Do you have any suggestions as to which gluing agent to use with stamps that won't harm them? Thanks so much, Steph. And, Merry Christmas from another Christian!!!

Merry Christmas! As the saying goes - when one door closes another opens! It sounds like you have become a much stronger individual and are ready to tackle new things that are forthcoming in the present and future. I wish you the best of luck!! Are you planning to design new items, not necessarily stamps in the future?

Hi Stephanie! wish you and your family a merry christmas and a happy new year!!

I bought a bunch of IB stamps and I wanted to start using markers to outline my stamps to be able to stamp with different colors. I am a little bit tight financially, as I'm still a student, so I'd like to know if I can get away with plain crayola water-washable markers or something like that, instead of whispers markers or those especially made for "stamping"???

Thanks!!

Merry Christmas Stephanie, and best of luck in your new business. So I want to hear the details of your new venture! Are you designing crafty gift items, sophisticated gift items, let's hear all about it! Will this be a cottage industry or will you be selling your designs to manufacturers? Having owned a small business (not craft-related though) I know how many decisions need to be made. I would love to hear how your designing and art background meshes with your fledgling business.

What a great surprise to see your email announcement of a blog update. I scooted right over here to check it out.
I'm so glad to hear that you are moving forward and trying something new. What a shock it was to hear about Inque Boutique (still can't believe it).
So my question to you is: How do you drum up inspiration when you just can't seem to get your creativity in gear? When you have a deadline for a design and just can't seem to find your mojo, how do you shake things up?!

Blessed Merry Christmas to you! I'm so happy to hear you are doing good. :)
My question is a little personal, and I don't expect you to answer it. When I discovered ib stamps, Kathleen was so great and just too sweet. I quickly became a fan of her! And what a coinky-dinky, she's a believer too! Well, I was just wondering if you 2 had a friendship (in the first place) and continued to after the misfortunate layoff and now what's happened with ib. Such sad news in all! But I pray you 2 are friends.
Have a blessed new year!!

I was wondering.... I have some black ink and I stamped up a new acrylic stamp and when I went to clean it (like 10 seconds later) the black wouldnt remove.

It says archival ink permanent - so have I done a boo boo???

OK. Don't laugh. But it took me a long time to figure out that Inque Boutique was not YOUR company. It wasn't until I saw one of your videos - the blue caddy turns pink - that I realized that it wasn't your company. Inque Boutique = Stephanie Barnard. This is going to take a long while to get used to.

If you had to pick your Inque Boutique stamp (or stamp set), which would it be and why?

Merry Christmas and best wishes for your new endeavor(s).

The question should have read, "If you had to pick your FAVORITE Inque Boutique stamp (or stamp set), which would it be and why?"

Hi Stephanie! Merry CHRISTmas to you :)

I loved reading your entry for yesterday and am excited for you as you begin this new chapter in your life! It's always a challenge when we leave the familiar behind - even if it's something that has been burdensome - but there is joy in knowing that GOD sees the "big picture" of our lives and guides into new areas of growth and productivity :)

My question for you: what are your thoughts on digital scrapbooking? Do you think you will ever design digital supplies for those of us who scrap digitally?

I developed a passion for this medium about 7 months ago and find myself much more prolific/productive in creating layouts for myself (as opposed to making gift albums and such for others) than I ever had been before! I've also made several gift albums for friends and family; it thrills me that I can do more, quicker, than I used to do with paper and supplies.

I still enjoy making mini-albums by hand, though, and get my "tactile fix" that way :) I still enjoy stamping my own cards, too, although I have made a few that were digital.

May the New Year bring unexpected blessings of joy, love, laughter and creativity from the Lover of our souls, Jesus Christ!

Hugs from Alaska - kimB

Merry Christmas to you and your family, Stephanie! I am sad to see the changes to Inque Boutique, as they are one of my favourite stamps, but I am happy to hear that you are doing well! :) My question is a non-stamping one ... what do you like best about this time of year? Thanks for the chance to win some of your stamps, and all the best!

Hi Stephanie!

I have so many papers, embellishments, stamps, and other supplies, that I don't know where to start when scrapbooking.

QUESTION: How do you choose which products, colors, etc. you'll be using on a certain layout?

THANK YOU! =)

Merry Christmas! I have just read your blog from October, and current blog. I am sad, but glad that you are moving in a different direction and happy! I have enjoyed watching your videos, and also on QVC. I don't have a question, just a quote that was so cute I wanted to share it. My six-year old daughter was roller skating at a rink for the first time, and my nineteen-year old daughter had been holding her hand as they skated around. Once she really got the hang of it she said, "I don't need to hold your hand to keep me up, but I need to hold your hand to keep me happy." Out of the mouths of babes! Enjoy your family, and keep trusting in the Lord to lead you! I'll miss your videos, and the joy you radiated!

Merry Christmas! I was wondering if you make New Year's Resolutions, and if so what yours is...and if you've been successful in the past in keeping New Years resolutions? I tend to make a list, but by February I tend to lose my resolve and could certainly use some help in keeping my resolutions.

First of all, Merry Christmas and WELCOME BACK! I met you at CKU-Houston in the summer then was totally bummed about your news! With all the traffic so far in this blog, I can see that you do have a following and will BE FINE whatever venture you put your mind into.... not too worry! You might even want to start an ETSY business with your designs, etc?
So, here's my real question... With Scrapbooking or Stamping, designing is the most creative and time-consuming part of the journey, so with that said, what are your core goals and beliefs in this ART? Every designer has their motto, what is yours?

I personally have learned so much from the Ali Edwards blog regarding style and basic personal goals. My sincere wishes for you to meet your goals.
Peace and Many Blessings in Christ,
Janet Ang from Norcal

A belated Merry Christmas to you, also! It is great to hear that your stress levels are much better and I pray they stay this way!!
My guestion is about what type of ink do you like to stamp with? There are several brands and types and it all gets confusing. "use this type of that, another for a particular look, etc." I mainly use my stamps to scrapbook but most of this time the pictures don't touch the stamped image.

I have two questions, one is what type of photo editing software do you use and the other is other than submitting your stuff to magazines what else did you do to get your name out there?
thanks

Hi Stephanie! Merry Christmas!

There are so many questions I could ask you, but I'll ask you a stamp-related one since I'm slowly using more of them in my cardmaking (hoping to make the bigger jump to scrapbooking:

What's a good ink?

For example, I love Color Box cat eyes for direct to paper, but they don't work well for stamping (great spongy pad, but too small). Is there a brand that stands out? That has great colors and quality ink? Everyone talks about stamps; what about the other half of the equation...the ink?!
